How I got into Makeup

Hello and welcome back to another blog! On today's blog I wanted to talk a bit more about me, my background and how I end up in Bristol.

I've always had a love for makeup, it started off from a very young age (12 years old or so)

I remember doing my friends makeup using a makeup kit I got for Christmas. As some of you might know, I moved to Bristol at the age of 19, with the idea of learning English for a few months and then to start at a makeup academy in Madrid (where I am from) . Well... that never happened! I loved Bristol, my independence and the language so I decided to stay and train as a makeup artist in the UK! (It was scary and also exciting!).

I started my training at City of Bristol College in 2014, covering Hair and Media Make up (Level 2) and Theatrical, Special Effects and Media Make-up Artistry (Level 3).

Soon after, in 2016, I joined BAMM (Bath Academy of Media Makeup) where I learnt all the basics to work in the TV and Film industry from professionals actively working in the industry.

I've had amazing opportunities because of BAMM, such as being a trainee for Spider Man (Far from Home) and flying out to Cannes film festival to work on a fashion show under the makeup direction of Kamanza Amiyah and a bunch of talented ladies, it was a really fun trip!! I've also worked for several years with Here to There Productions, as their Hair and Makeup designer on various performances, they're such a lovely company and I can't wait to work with them again once theatre performances are allowed.

I joined MAC Cosmetics in 2016 as a part-time artist so I could learn from one of the leading makeup authorities while gaining experience as a makeup artist.I learned so much and met amazing artists along the way.

I have recently become a full time makeup artist.

I love how makeup makes people feel and the many products you can use to create different finishes and looks and I'm very much looking forward to seeing where my career takes me.

I can't see myself doing anything else!

I hope you enjoy the blog, let me know what other things you would like me to blog about.
